BCA Says 65,000+ Concealed Carry Permits Issued Last Year
(KNSI) – The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says the number of concealed carry permits issued was nearly identical last year when compared to 2022. At 65,215, the figure was significantly less than during the George Floyd riots and increasing violence of the pandemic but above 2019, which was at 51,404. Stearns County residents got 1,866, the most in Central Minnesota. Sherburne had 1,621, and less-populated Benton County lagged with 600.

Car-SUV crash west of Litchfield send Richmond woman to the hospital
(Litchfield MN-) A Richmond woman was hurt in a car-SUV crash on the west side of Litchfield Wednesday night. The state patrol says it was reported at 7:43 p.m. when a car traveling westbound on Highway 12 and an SUV that was eastbound collided as the SUV was turning onto Highway 24. Neither driver was hurt, but a passenger in the SUV, 70-year-old Jeanette Hemmesch, was taken to CentraCare Rice Hospital in Willmar with non-life-threatening injuries.

Khambrel Omar Bowleg, 37, St. Cloud, was charged in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of dangerous weapons. St. Cloud Man Pleads Guilty for His Role in 2022 Murder
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- The murder trial of a St. Cloud man has been canceled after he accepted a plea agreement. 54-year-old Paul Coleman has pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting 2nd-degree murder for the death of 39-year-old Michael Batsche. As part of the agreement, a charge of aiding and abetting 1st-degree premeditated murder will be dismissed.

Man convicted on charge of displaying another’s license plates on vehicle
Billy Lee Probasco, 38, St. Cloud, was sentenced in Morrison County District Court to one year of probation to the court, fined $50 and ordered to pay restitution of $650 for one misdemeanor count of displaying another person’s license plates on his vehicle. One felony count of receiving stolen property and one gross misdemeanor count of driving an uninsured vehicle were dismissed.
