Quapaw’s Taycee Metcalf Signs to Coffeyville Community College

QUAPAW, OK – Quapaw senior Taycee Metcalf signed her intent to compete in rodeo at the next level on Wednesday afternoon.

Metcalf will take her talents to Coffeyville Community College, where she said her cousin and the coach were her biggest influences.

“It took me about two years of wanting to go into college rodeo,” said Metcalf.

“Once I got to talking with the rodeo coach, he offered me a scholarship that I couldn’t turn down.”

Participating in the sport for 16 years, Metcalf has won several belts as awards. The Coffeyville signee said the sport is something she’s always been interested in.

“I’ve rodeoed since I was a little girl,” Metcalf said.

“It was awesome to have everybody come out today. I had family come in from out of town, and even out of state to watch me sign. It really meant a lot to me.”

Metcalf said the sport has helped her foster a connection with animals, and she plans to study science with hopes to become a veterinarian.
