MONTGOMERY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects who were caught in the act of burglary. On November 30, a property owner south of Independence, Kansas reported to sheriff's officials they were watching on camera as two subjects were actively removing items from their property, according to Sheriff Ron Wade.
Coffeyville Police and Fire Collect Items For Those In Need
Officers from the Coffeyville Police and Fire Departments will be at Walmart tomorrow to collect items for area residents in need this holiday season. Officers and Firefighters will be accepting food, toys, clothing, personal hygiene items, and monetary donations. Personal items they are looking for include shoes, toothpaste, deodorant, and foundation makeup. All donations are tax deductible.

This week in Montgomery County, Kansas, there were two incidents that required law enforcement intervention. In the first incident, a man wanted on felony warrants was arrested in Dearing after a tip led deputies to a residence. The suspect initially refused to cooperate, prompting the activation of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team. In the second incident, a Cherryvale man was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in his vehicle. Two Indy Men Arrested on Theft Charges
Two Independence men are arrested on theft charges after being caught on camera. Montgomery County dispatch received a call from a property owner south of Independence saying they were watching on camera two men removing items from their property. Deputies responded to the location and saw two men loading scrap metal into the bed of a truck. The men were identified as Anthony Rodgers and Jesus Barraza-Aris.

• Donald Propes, Jr., 49, of Liberty, was arrested Nov. 24 for assault in the fourth degree domestic violence third or subsequent offense within five years, and terroristic threatening third degree. He was also charged with a second count of assault fourth degree domestic violence third or subsequent offense within five years.
