LUBBOCK, Texas — Court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Tuesday revealed Alek Collins, 26, who was accused of kidnapping a baby after killing two women and seriously injuring a child at a park outside of Clovis, had previously reported threats to the FBI in 2023.

Police initially responded to Ned Houk Park five miles north of Clovis on May 3. CPD said Samantha “Harley” Cisneros and Taryn Allen, both 23, of Texico, were found dead with gunshot wounds outside of a silver minivan. A 5-year-old girl, Cisneros’s child, was found with a gunshot wound to the head and taken to a Lubbock hospital. According to CPD, Cisneros’s 10-month-old daughter, Eleia Maria Torres, was abducted by Collins.

According to court records, two men who stopped at the park for lunch on Friday found the victims and called police. An officer responded and found the 5-year-old crying and bleeding from her head. The report said the child was responsive at the time and even tried to speak with the officer. Court documents said the officer thought the child had been at the park for a long time due to dry blood and dirt on her mouth.

After the child was put in an ambulance, officers found a baby bottle on the ground near a stroller. The probable cause affidavit said the officer searched the area and could not find the baby nearby. The FBI and New Mexico State Police helped search the park and get video footage from businesses in the area.

Court records said authorities obtained search warrants for cell phone providers and discovered a phone number connected to Collins pinged at a tower near the park on Friday. Court documents said his number also pinged at Dollar Tree around the same time the victims stopped at the store before going to the park.

According to the affidavit, Collins had rented the maroon Honda through a car-sharing/rental app, and authorities were able to track the GPS location on the vehicle. The data showed the vehicle was in the area of the park from 4:27 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. According to the affidavit, the vehicle stopped in the park for about 5 minutes before driving again. The vehicle was tracked through Friona, Sudan, Littlefield, Levelland, Rolesville, Tahoka and ultimately back to Abilene.

Court records stated in October of 2023, Collins called the FBI National Threat Operations Center and said if the agency did not help him find his daughter, he was going to “murder a bunch of children.” Collins also claimed that he once kidnapped a woman and her son, and his daughter was quickly recovered, according to the affidavit.

During that call to the FBI, Collins said he had easy access to weapons. Further details about his daughter or the other kidnapping were not provided in the affidavit. EverythingLubbock.com has requested additional information about those claims. The FBI on Tuesday said it cannot provide further comments on this investigation.

Authorities in Abilene started watching a home where Collins was reported to be staying in the 800 block of Hartwell Street. Collins was seen pushing the Honda out of the garage and into the street. Officers detained Collins and found baby Eleia. Police found a handgun at the scene.

“We later learned Collins admitted to taking [Eleia] but not to shooting any of the victims,” the affidavit stated.

Collins is being charged with the murders of Cisneros and Allen, child abuse for assaulting the 5-year-old and kidnapping the baby. The Abilene Police Department said he is also being charged with Aggravated Robbery and Assault of a Peace Officer, with more charges pending.

As of Tuesday, Collins remained in custody on a hold for the United States Marshals. Additional updates about the case can be found at EverythingLubbock.com as they become available.
