    Central IL communities cancel monthly siren testing amid storm risk

    CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Several communities across Central Illinois are canceling or delaying their monthly tornado siren testing as weather conditions on Tuesday could turn severe .

    The Macon County Emergency Management Agency said it was canceling its testing on Tuesday, along with Clinton and DeWitt County. The St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District also canceled its test.

    Tolono said it would postpone its test until the following Tuesday, May 14.

    In contrast, the Divernon Fire Protection District said it was going to go forward with its test. They stressed on Facebook that the siren that sounded at 10 a.m. was only a test. Taylorville also went ahead with its tests.
