Tusculum sets cast, performance schedule for Pollyanna
GREENEVILLE — Leaders of “Pollyanna” have selected a 35-person cast to turn the lively musical’s script into a production that will delight audiences in the spring at Tusculum University. Cast members, which include Tusculum students, alumni and community members, are now embarking on rehearsals. They will pull all of the pieces together for the next three months before launching the Theatre-at-Tusculum show in the Marilyn duBrisk Theatre. “These are talented actors who will present an outstanding run of performances,” said Steve Schultz, who is directing the musical. “All of us who were involved in watching them audition for parts were impressed with the energy they brought and know they will blend cohesively as a team to deliver shows our audiences will thoroughly enjoy. We are excited to move into the rehearsal stage.” The cast features three Tusculum students — Michael Bumgarner, Sam McCamey and James Sams — and alumni, such as Angela Bride, Zack Gass and Dr. Melissa Koehler. Other cast members come from various parts of East Tennessee. Many are veterans of Tusculum’s theater productions and have performed in other local theater companies, but there are some newcomers in the show as well. The cast list is available at

Off the beaten path dining in the Mountains: Holston’s Kitchen
Holston’s Kitchen: An honest review Is it bad that the first thing I think of when I think of Holston’s Kitchen – part of the KBS Family of Restaurants – is the design of the building? Holston’s looks like a good place to eat. Strong brick design on a building that doesn’t look like somebody put a façade on a box, even though that’s probably what it is? I guess Holston’s just looks like a comfortable place to dine, especially the Sevierville location with its outdoor seating. You want to know what Holston’s serves? It’s right there on the front of the building. Steaks * Chops * Burgers * Pastas * Salads. Typical American restaurant fare for a typical American Restaurant. But is Holston’s worth it? Read a little further and find out. Holston's Tex Mex style burrito and beans (photo by Morgan Overholt/TheSmokies.com) What is Holston’s Kitchen? It is a member of the KBS Family of Restaurants that includes the iconic, excellent Greenbrier and the bafflingly bland No Way Jose’s Cantina. I didn’t rate it particularly high on the KBS ratings. However, a lot of that is preference for the restaurants at the top of that listing. In addition
