Meteorologist Ryan DePhillips expects closer-to-normal temperatures today Basinwide with an uptick in humidity. Despite clearer skies this morning, clouds will be on the increase today with a few spotty showers possibly forming in The Trans Pecos. Most will remain free from rain though as West Texas won’t warm as much as yesterday with afternoon temperatures in the upper 60’s, 70’s, and low 80’s, still slightly above normal for this time of the year. Westerly winds will die down in The Trans Pecos as winds will shift more from the south and from the east, allowing for more-damp surface conditions. Unsettled weather in the upper levels of the atmosphere from the southwest will meet up with the low-level higher humidity to produce some spotty showers mostly to the south of The Basin. Leftover clouds will lower temperatures with ensue as a result tomorrow.

Some clouds for most with above-normal temperatures will ensue Basinwide as Meteorologist Ryan DePhillips expects temperatures to reach the upper 60’s, 70’s, and lower 80’s. Stable air will continue in the upper levels of the atmosphere, but the humidity will still be a bit present in eastern areas of West Texas, courtesy of the persistent south-southeasterly winds bringing in Gulf of Mexico low-level moisture. Areas west of The Pecos River will remain mostly dry with stronger southwesterly winds. As a high pressure system moves to the east of the region, damp weather will start to develop in the mornings ahead, but drier afternoons will ensue as well. A few low-level clouds will develop with some high-level clouds approaching from the west this weekend with low rain chances and higher temperatures.
