After an impressive sophomore season and showing off his speed running track this year, in-state wideout Jordon Gidron has seen his stock soar.

Just last week the 4-star prospect, out of Ridge View, got a huge bump by some of the recruiting services and he is now considered the top player in the state by 247 Sports and ESPN. He is also now ranked as high as No. 49 overall and No. 7 among all receivers.

With that kind of pedigree, it should come as no surprise that Gidron has had a very busy spring, which included two visits to Clemson. One came in March for Elite Junior Day and the other for the Tigers’ spring game, as he continues to build a strong relationship with receivers coach Tyler Grisham.

“Felt good to be with the players, getting to do Tiger Walk with them,” Gidron told The Clemson Insider regarding his latest visit. “Getting to talk to coach Grisham and just seeing how the players did.”

In fact, one of the first coaches Gidron talked to about his ratings bump was Grisham.

“He shows me love every time I go up there,” Gidron said. “I talk to him on the phone. I even talked to him about my ranking. So, it’s great and we continue to build that relationship.”

And he can see himself making plays in Garrett Riley’s offense.

“At outside receiver,” Gidron said. “And as a person who can make a lot of plays and do a lot of great things for the program.”

Earlier this week, Gidron’s speed was on full display as he posted a personal best of 10.73 in the 100 meter, which was good enough for a region championship. His 21.60 in the 200 meter was also a personal record.

“I didn’t even know they were updating the rankings,” he said. “So I was surprised when I found out and excited when I found out. It feels good to be ranked that high. I still have to keep working but it feels good that my talent has been seen.”

The talented wideout is quickly approaching the two-dozen offer mark, with some of the nation’s best programs in pursuit. Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, South Carolina and Auburn all got spring visits and all have offered.

That Clemson offer is one he will have to wait a little longer for, though. The Tigers won’t start offering players in the 2026 class until June. However, having to wait a little longer doesn’t bother Gidron. He understands how the Clemson staff goes about its business when it comes to recruiting.

“I respect the process,” Gidron said. “They like to see what kind of kid they are offering and really understand them before they offer. So, I respect that.”

Gidron said he would like to have a decision made by the end of next summer and when that time comes culture and development will factor in heavily.

“Just a school that can develop players,” Gidron said. “One that is a good place to be. Good receiver success, good coaches and a place that feels like home.”
