Miller: 'There Was Just Something Indescribable About This Place'

Clemson redshirt senior (graduate) Walker Parks, junior Blake Miller and redshirt sophomore Collin Sadler appeared on the latest episode of Clemson Football’s official podcast, 2 Right Turns , released Friday.

The trio of Tiger offensive linemen discussed a number of different topics, including why they chose Clemson during the recruiting process.

Miller was first to reflect on that decision to come to Tiger Town, and leave the Buckeye State behind.

A native of Strongsville, Ohio, Miller committed to Clemson back on Oct. 28, 2020, becoming the first member of Clemson’s 2022 recruiting class to commit to the Tigers.

The former national top-125 prospect picked Clemson over Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, Florida and numerous other prominent programs on his lengthy offer list.

For Miller, distance wasn’t a factor during his recruitment, and he was strongly drawn to Clemson — a place where he felt he would be able to thrive.

“For me, when I was a recruit, distance was never a big deal to me. I would go to California, wherever – it never mattered to me distance wise, it mattered what place was a good fit. And every time I came here – I’m pretty sure this was one of the first visits I went on was here – and I remember, like, all the other places I went to, they were great,” said Miller, a 2022 freshman All-American and 2023 All-ACC selection who has started every game for Clemson at right tackle since arriving prior to the start of the 2022 season.

“But there was just something indescribable about this place, just this energy and this greatness that I felt here. I felt drawn to come here, and as my high school career went on, I figured out that this was a place that I could go and I felt like I could excel at. And the kind of people that were here as well, it was just different – like everyone cared, everyone was really dialed in about being their best and making you your best, and that, to me, it drew me here. So, it didn’t matter where it was. Any place with this energy is special.”
