Former Clemson running back re-enters the transfer portal
After leaving the Clemson football program, another former Tiger is back in the transfer portal. Former Clemson running back Dominique Thomas spent two seasons with the Tigers before transferring to Georgia State. Thomas’ time at Georgia State has come to an end as he took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce he has re-entered the transfer portal. Thomas is moving on from Georgia State. Thomas was a walk-on running back for the Tigers and later earned a scholarship. In his Clemson career, he took 25 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown. He joined Georgia State in January 2024, making it a short stop for Thomas as he looks for a new program. In 2023, Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football team showed some promise, but fans wanted more from the Tigers as they failed to reach the ACC Championship game. Clemson guard announces transfer to ACC school
After recently announcing entering the transfer portal, former Clemson guard Josh Beadle has announced his new team. Following three seasons spent with Brad Brownell and the Clemson Tigers, Beadle is remaining in the ACC. Beadle is transferring to Boston College, where he will compete head to head with the Tigers in the 2024-25 season. Participating in 32 games this past season, Beadle averaged 10.8 minutes per game, scoring 3.0 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He shot 47.3 percent from the field, 68.8 percent from the free-throw line, and 14.3% from the three-point line. In two seasons with the program, he averaged 2.6 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, averaging 11.8 minutes in 65 games. Josh Beadle, a 6-3 guard from Columbia, South Carolina, has committed to Boston College. CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson baseball program will celebrate the life of Doug Kingsmore prior to Saturday’s game against Pittsburgh, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, in a pregame ceremony with surviving family members. Kingsmore passed away on Dec. 5, 2023 at the age of 90. The All-ACC Tiger and successful businessman was a co-captain of the Tigers’ first ACC championship team in any sport when Clemson won the 1954 ACC title. Clemson softball falls in new D1Softball Top 25 rankings
The Clemson Tigers fell three spots to No. 22 in the new D1Softball rankings, released Tuesday, April 16. It’s the second straight week that Clemson has fallen in the rankings. The Tigers (28-14 overall, 11-7 ACC) had been ranked No. 15 two weeks earlier. Coach John Rittman’s team was swept by Duke over the weekend at McWhorter Stadium. The fourth-ranked Blue Devils (37-4) were ranked No. 1 in the nation by Softball America last week. Texas (35-6) stayed at No. 1 in D1Softball’s rankings after another 4-0 week. The top three rankings remained the same as last week with Oklahoma (38-4) holding at No. 2 and Stanford (34-7) checking in at No. 3. Tennessee (32-7) moved up one spot from No. 6 to round out the top five. Washington placed sixth with Oklahoma State falling three spots to No. 7. LSU, Florida, and Missouri rounded out the top 10 in D1Softball’s rankings. No. 15 Virginia Tech and No. 16 Florida State were the only other ACC programs ranked by D1Softball. Clemson is scheduled to face Winthrop in non-conference play Tuesday at McWhorter Stadium before traveling to Notre Dame for a weekend series.
