Two former Clemson Tigers remain teammates in Philadelphia, so the competition in practice won’t stop any time soon.

Will Shipley and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. are now Eagles and the former talked about what it’s like to have him as a teammate at his introductory press conference in Philadelphia.

“It’s iron sharpens iron. When we came in, we both knew what we wanted to do as freshmen at Clemson. That’s get on the field, play, compete for a national championship and just go be our best,” Shipley said.

Over the last three seasons, the two became extremely decorated at Clemson. Shipley finished his career with 2,747 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns on the ground.

Trotter totaled 192 tackles, 29.5 for loss and 13 sacks. The two were dominant in the ACC, and it was a result of the battles had on the practice field.

“Him being a linebacker, me being a running back, we butted heads a lot. We got after it in practice and we just always competed so to have him here is one, it’s great to have a friend, someone I’m familiar with but also someone I know that’s going to push me every day,” Shipley said.

On the personal side, Shipley expressed gratitude to have someone as familiar with Philadelphia as a friend. Given the fact Trotter’s family lives close, he knows that it won’t take long to become acclimated.

The competition between the two won’t end any time soon. Neither will the brotherhood the two built as Tigers, and now will as Eagles.
