Two Midyear Enrollees Set to Arrive at Clemson in May - At least two Clemson midyears will get a head start on fall camp

At least two of Clemson’s midyear enrollee’s are getting a head start.

4-star DE Darien Mayo and 3-star LB CJ Kubah-Taylor are both enrolled for the summer semester and are set to arrive on campus in May.

The move will give the high school teammates, out of Good Counsel (Olney, Md), the opportunity to get started in the strength and conditioning program a few weeks ahead of fall camp.

“It helps a lot to be able to put on good weight and be physically ready for when camp starts,” Mayo told The Clemson Insider.

Mayo committed to the Tigers last summer, choosing Clemson over Penn State, Michigan and Southern Cal. The 6-foot-7 prospect is already pushing the 260-pound mark and he is confident he will be ready to take advantage of each and every opportunity he might get once camp starts later this summer.

“I’m just ready to compete and get to know more about my teammates,” Mayo said. “Just going to be ready for when my name is called.”

Kubah-Taylor was a late addition to the class, announcing his commitment in December, one day before the beginning of the early signing period. He was the third linebacker take in the class, joining 5-star Sammy Brown and 3-star Drew Woodaz, the younger brother of current Clemson linebacker Wade Woodaz.

“This kid is the real deal, he is definitely a dude,” a source said about Kubah-Taylor. “Very, very athletic and smart. He always flashed. I’m telling you he is a baller.”
