    Man dies after being shot multiple times while driving on South Side

    CHICAGO — An investigation is underway after a driver was fatally shot on the city’s South Side.

    The shooting happened in the 2400 block of East 91st Street around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Calumet Heights neighborhood.

    Police said officers responded to a call of shots fired and found a vehicle in the 9000 block of South Yates that had struck multiple parked cars before jumping the curb.

    According to police, officers discovered a 38-year-old man with gunshot wounds, two to the arm and one to the chest, inside the vehicle.

    The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.

    No one is in custody. Area Two Detectives are investigating.
