Zach Edey is a back-to-back National Player of the Year and upcoming NBA Draft pick.

While he's an overwhelmingly accomplished player on the basketball court, his ability as a baseball player apparently leaves a lot left to be desired.

Edey took the mound to toss out the ceremonial first pitch before Tuesday afternoon's MLB matchup between the San Diego Padres and Chicago Cubs.

Unfortunately for the 7-foot-4 center, he wasn't even close to hitting the target.

"Zach Edey's first pitch was just a little outside," the MLB wrote on X.

The jokes at Edey's expense are pouring in on social media.

"To be fair that would be like that average person throwing a golf ball. So tough," one fan wrote.

"Yikes! This makes 50 Cent look like Nolan Ryan," another said.

"Somewhere a referee just called a foul," another added.

You wouldn't be able to guess by looking at this clip, but Edey was actually a pitcher in high school. A viral video clip of the Canadian big man during his baseball career has made the rounds on social media several times.

It appears Edey made the right decision when he transitioned to basketball.
