CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The search continues for the man accused of murdering Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca. Meanwhile, his relative made an unrelated court appearance Tuesday.

Twenty-year-old Caschaus Tate, a relative of the suspect in the officer’s murder, 22-year-old Xavier Tate, is alleged to have been in possession of Huesca’s gun.

When police went to his Morgan Park home looking for his brother, it’s alleged that he tossed the officer’s gun over a fence into a neighbor’s yard.

Prosecutors said Xavier Tate had taken an Uber to the home after Huesca’s murder.

The brother was in court on charges that he committed a burglary and stole an ATM. He’s still being held.

He appeared in court on gun charge on Friday.

The reward money for the arrest and conviction of Xavier Tate is now at  $100,000.
