CHESTER, W.Va. (WTRF) — The Northern Panhandle’s only drive-in movie theater will soon be under new management.

In a post on Facebook , the Hilltop Drive-in in Chester shared that the theater has been sold to new owners, just over a week after announcing that it was for sale.

According to the post, the community will have an opportunity to meet those owners.

Owner Katie Beaver tells 7News that the drive-in will still remain a theater, and that she will partner with the new owners until they are able to run it independently.

Beaver has run Hilltop since 1988, and her father was one of the first projectionists when it opened in 1950.

7News recently spoke to Beaver regarding the memories of her owning the drive-in the past 35 years.
