POTSDAM, New York (WWNY) - A Williamsville, N.Y. man is accused of driving 90 mph in a 30-mph zone while fleeing police in Potsdam earlier this month. Village police say 19-year-old Paul Occhipinti was injured in the crash that happened after allegedly failing to stop when an officer tried to pull him over on Clarkson Avenue on February 18.
Town of Massena proposes lowering speed limit on Pontoon Bridge Road for hydrogen plant
MASSENA -- Travelers on the Pontoon Bridge Road in Massena may see a lower speed limit in the future but the process to change the speed may take months to complete. Town Supervisor Sue Bellor said during the Feb. 21 town board meeting that a request would be submitted to the Department of Transportation to lower the speed from the current 55 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour.

"We have also been developing plans to address the state of the dilapidated hotel. We all know Ogdensburg could use lodging inside the city and along the St. Lawrence River is an excellent location for this. The benefits of this project include job creation (full time, and year-round positions), increased tax revenue for the city, community revitalization, improving blighted and underutilized areas and increased neighboring property values. We’ve secured a franchise agreement with Wyndham Hotels.
