Man in stable condition following shooting in Colchester
An unnamed man is in stable condition at UVM Medical Center following a shooting Sunday afternoon. The Colchester Police Department says the 31-year-old was shot once in the chest shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Sharrow Circle. Local police from Burlington, Essex and Winooski assisted at the scene, along with the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Warden Service Division and federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
Former longtime Vermont Sen. Dick Mazza has died
This story may be updated. Former longtime state lawmaker Dick Mazza has died, Gov. Phil Scott’s office confirmed Sunday. He was 84. Mazza, a Democrat, spent 42 years in the Statehouse, serving briefly in the House of Representatives before joining the Senate in 1985. He resigned in April, citing health reasons.
Plattsburgh Police Department will begin using body cameras in July
Plattsburgh, NY- Police in Plattsburgh will soon be fitted with body cameras in a move that Chief Pete Mitchell says benefits everybody. The department will soon join the ranks of other departments using the technology. It’s a decision Chief Mithcell says has been in the works for over a decade.
