    Pinpoint Weather Alert: Strong storms possible this afternoon in Charlotte

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( PINPOINT WEATHER ) — We are tracking scattered showers and storms Wednesday afternoon across the Carolinas with the potential for some strong and severe thunderstorms around Charlotte.

    We are at a SLIGHT risk for severe weather with hail and damaging winds with a low risk for a brief tornado being the primary concern. Highs Wednesday afternoon will be in the low 80s.

    Storms will taper off Wednesday evening as lows dip into the low 60s heading into Thursday. High pressure will dominate to kick off the second half of the work week, giving us a break in rain and storm chances and a good amount of sunshine for the day.

    Low 80s will finish off the week on Thursday and Friday with storm chances returning Friday afternoon. We’ll see spotty storms and near 80 degrees through the weekend. Early next week will see storms dwindle and low 80s lock in.
