Argument between drivers leads to baseball bat attack in Lakeview
CHICAGO (CBS) — An argument between drivers led to an attack with a baseball bat in Lakeview Wednesday night. Around 7:15 p.m., police said a 30-year-old got into an argument with a man and woman in the 700 block of West Sheridan Road. What caused the argument is unknown. The argument escalated as the man got out of his car and started punching the victim. The suspect left the scene and then returned with a baseball bat. He used the bat to hit the victim and his car.The woman also got out of the car and pepper sprayed the victim.Police said the suspects drove off in a silver SUV. The victim was treated at Illinois Masonic Hospital and released in good condition. No arrests have been made. Police are searching for the suspects.

City of Chicago reaches compromise to keep outdoor dining on Clark Street in River North
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The City of Chicago has come to a compromise on expanded outdoor dining along Clark Street in River North.The popular program was set to be scrapped this year, after pushback from some businesses upset about street closures.But the Chicago Department of Transportation issued permits allowing curb or parking lane closures for outdoor dining areas on Clark Street between Grand Avenue and Kinzie Street. This "The format will give participating restaurants extra capacity and create an inviting outdoor space for dining, while taking into account the need for accessibility and traffic flow in the River North community," the City of Chicago said in a statement.The program will run through Oct. 31.
Car crashes onto north suburban Chicago golf course
LAKE BLUFF, Ill. (CBS) -- A car crashed onto the golf course at the Lake Bluff Golf Club Wednesday night.The Kia sport-utility vehicle ended up in the tee box for the 10th hole at the golf course.According to reports, the people in the car were being sought in connection with a shooting in nearby Waukegan. CBS 2 has learned four people ran out of the car after the crash, and police were able to take two of the four into custody.K-9 officers were also brought out to try to track down the suspects.

New Cicero, Illinois ordinance bans alcohol sales after midnight
CICERO, Ill. 1 dead after motorcycle hits school bus in Will County
MINOOKA, Ill. (CBS) -- A motorcycle hit a school bus near Minooka Wednesday afternoon, leaving the operator of the motorcycle dead.At 3:17 p.m., Will County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 24000 block of West Shepley Road in unincorporated Troy Township near Minooka.The sheriff's office said a school bus with 15 kids on board was stopped on Shepley Road, when a two-person motorcycle slammed into the back of the bus after it dropped off a child.The man on the motorcycle died. The woman suffered serious injuries, but was conscious when she was taken to an area hospital.The children on the bus were not injured. They were removed from the scene and their parents and caretakers were contacted, the sheriff's office said.

WILLOW SPRINGS, Ill. (CBS) -- Police brought out K-9s Wednesday afternoon to search for a man who ditched a van after a long police chase through several western suburbs.The chase started after a theft in Oak Brook. Two thieves in a minivan drove at times as fast as 100 miles an hour down Interstates 88, 355, and 55, eventually ending in Willow Springs.Police caught one man but were searching for the other Tuesday afternoon.The search was underway as of just before 4 p.m. around Howard Avenue and 80th Place in Willow Springs.
