Lewis County woman faces numerous charges
CROGHAN, New York (WWNY) - The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that it has arrested a 43 year old Croghan woman on several charges. In a press release, deputies said Nicole Lyndaker violated a Lewis County family court ‘stay away’ order of protection in three separate incidents in the towns of Croghan, New Bremen and Martinsburg.

Niagara County resident arrested for alleged intoxicated driving in Lowville, Troopers say
LOWVILLE- A resident from Western New York is accused of intoxicated driving in Lewis County, authorities say. Courtney R. Vanvalkenburg, 43, of Ransomville, NY was arrested late Thursday by the New York State Police (Lowville). Vanvalkenburg is formally charged with one count each of DWI (first-offense) and operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% BAC or greater).

Report: New York needs $29M to upgrade aging state bridges
(The Center Square) — New York needs to spend tens of millions of dollars to bring its aging bridges into a state of good condition, according to the state's top fiscal watchdog, calling for more funding for the upgrades. The report by New York Comptroller Tom DiNapoli said about one in 10 municipal bridges in the Empire State are in "poor" condition, with an estimated $29 million needed to repair the structures. ...

New York Provides Free Overdose Emergency Kits to Domestic Violence Shelters
Domestic violence shelters and service providers across New York State now have access to free Overdose Emergency Kits. This initiative is a partnership between the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV), the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), and the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). The kits are provided through Project COPE (Community Overdose Prevention Education), funded by a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
