The occupant of a Corvette was trapped in their vehicle on the 5 Freeway in Castaic Thursday after the vehicle became pinned underneath a big rig.

About 11:42 a.m. Thursday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision on the northbound 5 Freeway, just north of Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic, according to Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.

“Initial call came out as a speeding car with several missed crashes ,” Greengard said.

Witnesses reported seeing a Corvette pinned underneath the back end of a semi-truck.

The Corvette driver, an adult male, was freed from the vehicle by emergency crews.

The northbound No. 2, 3, and 4 lanes of the 5 Freeway were closed for at least an hour due to the incident. Expect traffic delays.
