Gresham Ford funds, presents new shirts to Sandy High Forestry Club
On Feb. 5, members of the Sandy High School Forestry Club met up with Bess Wills of Gresham Ford to receive club shirts donated by the local auto dealer. Gresham Ford is a supporter of several East County efforts, including numerous school-related groups. The Forestry Club was started at Sandy around this time last year by SHS science teacher Paul Felstiner, and offers students a chance to learn about wildlife identification, plant identification, logging, forest management and more. Camas Wrestling Coach John Constien has been named the GSHL Wrestling Coach of the Year after completing a very successful third season as Papermaker head coach. Constien has won back-to-back District Championships and this year took home League, Districts and Regional titles and had his second top 10 finish state finish.

On March 2nd, 2024, Sandy Library will hold an event featuring historian Jerry Sutherland. He will talk about his new book, 'Bayocean: Atlantis of Oregon'. The book explores the history of Bayocean, a resort town planned by T. B. Potter and Harkness Chapin in 1906. Bayocean, located on the Tillamook Spit, was designed to be a luxury destination with a hotel, rental cabins, and an indoor saltwater pool.
