State awards two grants totaling $4.1 million to expand broadband access in Polk County
Florida has awarded two grants for projects to expand broadband access in Polk County. Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office announced the awarding of $60 million for 22 projects statewide through the Broadband Opportunity Program, administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The Broadband Opportunity Program funds the installation and deployment of broadband internet infrastructure in unserved Florida communities, DeSantis’ office said in a news release.
