Two Perry County villages to get state money for water projects
COLUMBUS — On June 5 state Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) announced that the 20th Senate District will receive $5,562,947 in grant awards to help improve water infrastructure. The funding is part of the sixth round of the Ohio BUILDS (Broadband, Utilities, and Infrastructure for Local Development Success) Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program. City rescinds boil order for second time
LOGAN — The city of Logan on Wednesday, June 12 rescinded a boil order that it had issued on Monday, June 10 for North Orchard and Orchard Place. This had been the second boil order for this part of the city in quick succession, with a previous boil order for the same area having been announced on June 5 and rescinded on June 7.

Group gives funds to Chauncey, Meigs County and history center
COLUMBUS — On Tuesday, America 250-Ohio, the official state commission charged with leading Ohio’s recognition of the semiquincentennial, awarded $600,000 in grants for 61 community-based projects as part of the commission’s second funding cycle. More than 170 organizations throughout the state submitted applications for the second round of the grants program, which is managed in partnership with Ohio Humanities. 4-H club donates to treatment center
The Junction City Creation Station 4-H Club collected items to donate to the Fairfield Cancer and Infusion Treatment Center. Investigators trying to identify human remains found in river
ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - Neighbors are hoping for answers after a group of kayakers made a grisly discovery in Athens County during the weekend. The Athens County sheriff says they got a call a little before 7:30 Saturday evening that a group kayaking on the Hocking River found human remains.
