Deputies search for Stark County shooting suspect

CANTON TOWNSHIP , Ohio (WJW) – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect after a man was shot in Canton Township on Monday.

The shooting happened at about 3 p.m. at Meyers Lake Plaza in the 1500 block of Whipple Avenue, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

At the scene, deputies found a 23-year-old man who was shot by an unknown suspect.

According to the release, the suspect is believed to have fled the scene in a light blue or silver SUV.

The victim was taken to Aultman Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

Deputies ask that anyone with information contact the Stark County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Bureau at 330-430-3800.
