Stark County schools and Stark County Educational Service Center member districts supported the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank's Harvest for Hunger Campaign on Tuesday by filling buses with food as part of the seventh annual "Hunger: The Bus Stops Here" fundraising drive.

The buses delivered the food to the agency's Stark County campus on Cherry Avenue NE in Canton.

Volunteers from American Electric Power, Walsh Jesuit High School and Caring and Serving Together volunteered to help unload the buses.

More than 8,000 pounds were dropped off, along with more than $700 financial donations, which will help provide enough food for nearly 9,000 meals for our local community.

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank serves individuals and families in Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties.
