Keith Franklin, 31, received the sentence from Judge John Durkin after pleading guilty to a charge of felonious assault.

The shooting happened after a man was beaten earlier in the day with a bat, reports said.

Franklin turned himself into police and had been in the county jail on $250,000 bond before he pleaded guilty and was sentenced.
