ALFRED, NY – Alfred Village Police Sgt. Joshua Van Skiver reports that two male teenagers, one from Bath and one from Painted Post, were charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly getting into a fight on the street, at around 1:00am early Satuday. This morning Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard announced that the suspects who are accused of stealing several vehicles from Maple City Dodge in Hornell – are 18, 19 and 21 years old. They are all said to be from Rochester, and one of the suspects, the 19 year old, is alleged to have given law enforcement, a fake name, so he is facing additional charges for that too.

After our February 13, 2024 Regular Board of Education meeting, I am pleased to provide an update regarding our ongoing efforts to ensure the best educational opportunities for our students. The Board has given me direction to reach out to Andover Central School to continue our tuition agreement. This decision reflects our commitment to providing a high-quality education for all students while being mindful not to overburden our current teaching staff. This means 9th and 12th grade cohorts will attend Whitesville CSD and 10th and 11th grade cohorts will remain at Andover CSD for the 2024-25 school year.
