LOS ANGELES — Goldsboro native Tae Lewis’ resilient run to the semifinals of NBC’s “The Voice” came to an end on Tuesday evening. Lewis, who now resides in Nashville, was one of five contestants who had not received enough votes from viewers to advance to the finals. He sang Walker Hayes’ “Wanted,” in his last chance performance before host Carson Daly brought the final five contestants back on stage.
Saving Union Station Event Postponed
The Saving Union Station event scheduled for Tuesday at 101 N. Carolina Street, has been postponed until June 4 due to the threat of thunderstorms in the forecast for Tuesday. Tuesday’s event was scheduled to feature a regional Eastern Carolina Rail meeting, hosted by members of the Eastern Carolina Rail Coalition, a non-profit advocacy group dedicated to returning passenger service to the Port City of Wilmington.

Friday Night Shooting Leaves Teen Girl Injured
On Friday night at approximately 9:51, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a call at UNC Health Wayne in reference to a shooting. Officers were informed that the victim, Kayla Jones, 18, Goldsboro was suffering from a gunshot wound. Jones was flown to ECU Health for further treatment.
