Tree Removal In Arnold Prompts Road Closure
Arnold, CA – The removal of a hazardous tree will close a roadway in the Arnold area of Calaveras County tomorrow. County public works officials report that PG&E crews will remove a dead tree to protect power lines from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at 1865 Evergreen Drive. The roadway will be closed between Pine Cone Drive and Manzanita Drive, east of Moran Road, near the Fly-in Acres Reservoir.
Valley Springs Woman Arrested For Knife Attack
Valley Springs, CA – An argument between two roommates in the Valley Springs area of Calaveras County erupted into a knife attack, resulting in one of them being arrested. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2000 block of Hartvickson Lane near Vista del Lago Drive and south of Highway 26 in Valley Springs after a report of a disturbance early Sunday (7/14) morning. The suspect had already fled the scene when deputies arrived. The victim told them that 36-year-old Felicia Martinez pulled a knife during the argument and stabbed them in one of the victim’s extremities.

July 19, 2024 – Valley Springs - Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, at about 8:30 a.m., the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the California Department of Fish & Wildlife, executed a search warrant in the 5000 block of Lakeview Road in Valley Springs for an illegal marijuana cultivation operation.
Calaveras Man Arrested On Domestic Violence, Drug, And Gun Charges
West Point, CA — An extensive investigation led to the arrest and several charges filed against a West Point man. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office reports that 27-year-old Jordan Fox Peters was allegedly under the influence of drugs and a victim at a residence on Lily Gap Road felt unsafe and tried to leave. The victim attempted to call 911 but Peters reportedly grabbed the person by the throat and took the phone away. He also pushed a child in the process. The victim and child were eventually able to get away and an initial report was later filed with the sheriff’s office. However, deputies could not locate Peters. That first incident happened on June 27.
Man Arrested in Domestic Violence Assault in West Point - Blasting Caps, Ammo, and Drugs Found in Hidden Room in Calaveras County
July 18, 2024 – Calaveras County Sheriff's Office officials report that on June 27, 2024, at about 5:30 P.M., deputies contacted the victim of a domestic violence incident that occurred a few days earlier in the 2000 block of Lily Gap Road, West Point. The victim told deputies they arrived home to find suspect Jordan Fox Peters, age 27, of West Point, apparently under the influence of drugs. The victim explained that suspect Jordan has a history of violence while under the influence of drugs and did not feel safe being around him in his intoxicated condition. When the victim attempted to leave, suspect Jordan became angry, yelling at the victim and blocking their attempts to leave. The victim became concerned for their safety and utilized a cellular telephone to activate 911. During the victim's attempt to call 911, suspect Jordan pushed a young child out of the way, grabbed the victim by the throat with one hand, and removed the cellular phone from the victim’s hand to prevent any communication with the 911 center. Suspect Jordan damaged the victim's cell phone, rendering it inoperable. The victim and children were able to leave the residence. At the initial report of this incident, deputies could not locate suspect Jordan.

July 20, 2024 – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 14th, 2024, at approximately 5:45 A.M., the Calaveras. County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance in the 2000 block of Hartvickson Lane in Valley Springs. When deputies arrived, they found the victim tending to injuries and learned that the suspect had fled the area. Deputies obtained the description of the suspect and suspect vehicle to alert other deputies who were responding.
