The George’s Goats for Grandmas memorial benefit run-walk was held in Cable Saturday April 27, with approximately 124 participants in the 2K, 5K and 5-mile races. The weather was cool and cloudy with light rain.
Event coordinator Jim Anderson said “We should be able to provide the orphanage in Kisii $9,000 for a trade school, which will give
these orphans some direction after high school, when they will be on their own.
“The medical clinic has already been a big success, so much so that they need more room for patients that need a bed,” Anderson said. “The extended clinic and trade school will be a second and third floor on the clinic already present.
“Helping with this addition is an excellent follow-up to the four orphans we already helped find a home at the New Life Community Center orphanage,” Anderson added. “We had 30 very generous sponsors this year, which helped make the $9000 for the orphanage possible, along with many individual donations.”
