Johnson City man sentenced to 95 years in prison for murder and attempted murder
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WCYB) — A Johnson City man was sentenced to more than 95 years in prison for murder and attempted murder, according to officials. Billy Anderson was sentenced earlier this month in the shooting death of Brionah Tester in March 2022 and for stabbing a fellow inmate with a broken lightbulb in October 2022.

Sudden closure of assisted living facility in Johnson County
In a recent update, TBI Public Information officer Leslie Earhart said, "TBI agents are working alongside the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission, Adult Protective Services, the 1st Judicial District Attorney General’s Office, and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office as part of an investigation that centers around the Sunset Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Mountain City. At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing."
