Alexandria resident arrested on felony assault charges for Jan. 6 riot
Alexandria resident David Marshall, 57, has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges for allegedly assaulting law enforcement during the Jan. 6 riot in 2021. Marshall was arrested on May 1 for multiple alleged assaults on law enforcement officers and on a member of the news media, according to the Department of Justice.
1 dead, 2 wounded in overnight shootings in DC
WASHINGTON - D.C. police say one person is dead, and two others remain hospitalized, after overnight shootings in the District. The violence began in southwest Washington just after 12:40 a.m. Monday when officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the 100 block of Ivanhoe Street. He was taken to the hospital. No suspects have been identified.

An 8-year-old girl was injured Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Woodson Avenue in Kensington, according to authorities.
