Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department has identified the victim of an overnight hit-and-run on Niagara Street near Fargo Avenue in the City of Buffalo on Wednesday.

21-year-old Allen Ruiz from Buffalo was struck, and declared deceased at the scene when Central District officers responded to the call just before 12:45 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

Upon arrival that morning, accident investigators say a white Dodge Durango was traveling South on Niagara Street when it struck a possible skateboarder.

Authorities say the Dodge Durango continued traveling on Niagara Street before striking a parked vehicle. At that time, authorities say the driver fled on foot.

Buffalo police say the Durango is currently in police custody, and officials have questioned an individual in connection with the incident.
