Craft Beer Night returns to Albertville Friendly City Days
Albertville will celebrate its 37th annual Friendly City Days festival June 5-9, and this year marks the 10th annual Craft Beer Night hosted by the Albertville Fire Relief Association. The Craft Beer Night will take place on Thursday, June 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Central Park Beer Garden. Patrons will be able to choose 12 different craft brews from the Minnesota region – beer is served in cans. The Local Bands, Kevin James and the Weary and Shirts and Skins, will perform on the stage. Two local arts groups win grants from CMAB
The Central MN Arts Board (CMAB) has awarded a total of $218,421 in support of 29 regional arts projects, including two in the Elk River area. They are: • Rum River Art Center, $8,000, for expanding the Senior Art-Reach program series of outreach classes for older adults ages 55+ held from June 2024 to March 2025 at the Elk River Senior Center and at the St. Michael Library. • SOAR Regional Arts, $7,200, for SOAR Troup traveling performances held at area long-term care facilities between October 2024 and May 2025 in St. Michael, Otsego, Albertville and Rogers. Funding for these grants is provided through an appropriation from the Minnesota Legislature with money from the state’s general fund, and its Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund created by the voters of Minnesota.

On April 20, the St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Friends of the Library hosted a Crime, Coffee and Donuts event at the St. Michael City Council Chambers. The event was a collaboration between the Friends of the Library and the Twin Cities Sisters in Crime chapter. The Friends of the Library, which is a nonprofit organization that supports the library and the community, hopes to host the event annually.
