SALISBURY, Md. – A Wicomico County jury handed down the county’s largest medical malpractice verdict last week. We’re told the jury ordered Dr. Peter Libby and Peninsula Radiology Associates, PA to pay Selbyville couple Mary and Tim Raver $3.38 million for Dr. Libby’s failure to properly interpret and identify abnormalities on Mary’s CT scan, resulting in her cancer progressing from Stage I to terminal Stage IV cancer.
Hurlock man arrested following traffic stop in Laurel
LAUREL, Del. – A traffic stop in Laurel Sunday afternoon led to numerous charges for a Hurlock man. We’re told troopers stopped a silver Ford 500 with an expired tag in the area of Seaford Road and Camp Road shortly after 12 p.m. On contact with the driver, identified as 38-year-old Howard Quailes, troopers reportedly smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and saw an open beer bottle in the center console.

Maryland missed a key deadline for property taxes across the state, how counties are responding
SALISBURY, MD – A crucial tax deadline was missed by the state of Maryland that could see counties across the state losing out on crucial revenue. Maryland failed to send thousands of property assessment letters to the tune of about 1,000 households in Wicomico County, meaning those homes would not see their property taxes reassessed and would be taxed at their previous rate for the next 3 years.
Local Hurlock Resident Arrested on Multiple Charges Following Laurel Traffic Stop
Howard Quailes, a 38-year-old from Hurlock, Maryland, was arrested by Delaware State Police for gun and traffic offenses. The arrest happened on Sunday afternoon in Laurel, after a traffic stop due to an expired tag on Quailes' silver Ford 500. Officers smelled marijuana and saw an open beer bottle in the car. A pat-down search revealed a handgun with an erased serial number in Quailes' waistband.
