Atmos Energy will start pipe replacement projects in Cañon City, Colorado, on Monday, March 4, 2024. The goal is to improve the safety and reliability of its natural gas system and cut greenhouse gas emissions. Kurtis Paradisa, Atmos Energy public affairs manager, said the upgrades will lower the company's carbon footprint and methane emissions. Law enforcement vehicles targeted for gun theft in Canon City, police issue warning
CAÑON CITY, Colo. (KKTV) - Police in Cañon City are reporting they have experienced an increase in vehicle trespass complaints and guns being stolen. “The theft of these firearms like many of the other vehicle break-ins were reportedly from unlocked vehicles in most cases,” police wrote on social media. “In most cases, the firearms being left were an oversight or the owners were not certain if they were locked but, in those instances, there were no signs of forced entry.”

Cañon City Pool Feasibility Study Begins
The Swimming Pool Feasibility Study has officially kicked off with the first public meeting, held Feb. 28 at the Cañon City Middle School Auditorium. A little more than 60 people attended to learn about potential options to replace the R.C. Icabone Swimming Pool. The study is designed to provide transparency for a pool project. It will tell the organizers what the community wants in a facility, how much it will cost to construct and operate, where it will be located, and how it will be funded. There has never been a feasibility study performed in the community for just an aquatics facility.
