NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Subway riders have been menaced with box cutters and mugged in a robbery spree on the 2 line in recent days, police said Thursday.

Images released by the NYPD shows the suspects linked to three armed robberies on the subway line in the Bronx over the past week. None of the victims were physically injured in the muggings, which all happened in the early morning hours, according to police.

Just two days before, on Sunday, a 26-year-old man was riding a northbound 2 train near the Gun Hill Road station in Williamsbridge around 1:35 a.m. when he too was menaced with a box cutter and robbed of his phone by one thief.

And last Thursday, a 50-year-old man was robbed on a northbound 2 train approaching the Bronx Park East station in Van Nest, police said. The victim was targeted around 1:45 a.m. by two men who simulated a weapon and stole his phone and wallet.
