Rich Houston: No blackouts looming in Laconia due to increased EV use
EV owner here. A concerned citizen wrote blackouts are looming for Laconia if electric cars become too numerous. Let's talk about why that won't happen. Most EV drivers don't draw large amounts of juice at once. They trickle charge overnight from a regular wall outlet. Some opt for a heavier clothes dryer type 240 volt outlet. Either way you would be surprised how much less money it costs to fuel with electricity then gasoline.

James M. O’Neil: Don't blame Trump in fraud case, bank should have appraised property
I’m responding to Vincent Ribas’ letter to the editor piece in The Laconia Daily Sun on Feb. 20, regarding Donald Trump’s fraud case in New York. In simple terms as far as I know, when you borrow money from a bank, or any institution, the institution almost always sends an appraiser to see if the property is worth what money you’re borrowing on that particular property. So, shame on the lender for not doing their job. Don’t blame Trump. Besides, as stated, Tramp paid back 100% of the loans.
