Kaitlyn Coones, now 18, of Canton, is charged with alternative counts of aggravated murder and murder, second-degree felonious assault, third-degree tampering with evidence, and fifth-degree abuse of a corpse for the disappearance and presumed death of Nicole Jones, 53, of Sylvania Township. Erin Kennedy, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, asked Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook to set Miss Coones’ bond at the same aggregate $3 million as had previously been set for Jonathon Jones, 34. Judge Cook opted to set bond at $500,000 apiece for the two murder counts and $150,000 apiece for the other counts after defense lawyer Autumn Adams requested “reasonable cash bond” for Miss Coones.
