(Clarinda) -- The Clarinda Cardinals have a lot of success the last couple of years on the baseball field, and Head Coach Rod Eberly looks to continue the winning ways. The Cardinals return a key hitter in Cole Baumgart, who was restricted to just a DH role last year, because of a shoulder injury.

Maryville highschool girls soccer trounces Kirksville; Bishop LeBlond pushes out Benton
(CAMERON, Mo.) No. 1 Maryville defeated No. 4 Kirksville by a score of 7-2 in the semifinal of the Class 2 District 8 Tournament in the earlier game on Thursday. In the other semifinal game, No. 2 Bishop LeBlond came back from a 3-1 deficit in regular time to take down No 3 Benton by a score of 4-3 with a free kick in overtime.
