Not a day passes by that there isn't some sort of storyline coming out of Boulder, Colorado and this week has been no different.

Oddly enough if you told someone just two years ago that Colorado would constantly be in the headlines, they likely wouldn't believe you. On Monday, The Athletic released an article detailing how players who were shown the door by then-first-year head coach Deion Sanders did at their new school. It also featured interviews with some of those former players, who detailed how they felt at the moment.

One of the players featured in the interview was Xavier Smith who decided to stick it out during spring ball despite Sanders' blunt message to the team. The plan was to showcase that he belonged and was willing to compete, but was met with a cold shoulder from Sanders and the staff.

Smith's story, along with other players like ECU receiver Chase Sowell, has been circling social media. The quotes ended up on the feed of Sanders' son and quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, who didn't hold back when speaking about Smith.

"Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best," wrote Sanders on social media.

A response that has drawn plenty of criticism from fans on social media, with many fans deemimg the response to be an example of why the program won't succeed and also question Sanders as a leader.
