BOSTON (WPRI) — Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers recently made quite the discovery in a man’s carry-on bag at Logan International Airport.

The TSA officers found a set of 10 throwing knives in the man’s bag as he was being screened.

“Just a reminder, if you have a set of throwing knives … you need to pack them in your checked bag,” TSA New England spokesperson Dan Velez wrote in a social media post Tuesday morning.

Sharp objects, including knives, can’t be brought on a plane in a carry-on, but can be stored in a checked bag, according to TSA .

TSA said the only exceptions for knives are ones “with rounded blades, blunt edges without serration/teeth such as butter knives, or plastic cutlery.”

“Any sharp objects in checked bags should be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors,” TSA notes.

Anyone caught with a prohibited sharp object in their carry-on bag could be fined up to $2,250.
