LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — A Boardman contractor convicted of theft charges in Mahoning and Trumbull counties was sentenced Friday on three theft charges in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

John Bartos was sentenced to 90 days in jail and was immediately taken into custody following sentencing before Judge Scott Washam.

Bartos pleaded guilty in April to three fifth-degree felony counts of theft.

Bartos blamed “bad decisions” when he was sentenced to probation in Mahoning County for taking money from clients for work he never completed. His attorney said during the same hearing that some “bad vices” were responsible for those decisions.

Bartos has made restitution in Mahoning and Trumbull counties, where he was sentenced to probation and a 120-day jail sentence.
