Boil advisory issued for New Market
(New Market) -- A boil advisory has been issued for portions of New Market until further notice. City officials say the advisory was issued after a water main was hit Thursday causing a water outage. The outage is Main Street and to the east and from 6th Street south to 1st Street.
Creston man booked on warrant for parole violation
(Creston) -- A Creston man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday night. The Creston Police Department says 39-year-old Charlie Walter Brown was arrested shortly before 8:30 p.m. on a Department of Corrections warrant for violation of parole. Authorities say Brown was already a current inmate at the Union County Jail when arrested on the warrant.

Bearcat Ryan Williams Named to D2CCA First-Team All-Region Baseball Honors
(Maryville, MO) – Northwest Missouri State baseball’s Ryan Williams has been named to D2CCA First-Team All-Region honors after a phenomenal season. Williams led the Bearcats this season in batting average at .391, slugging percentage at .690, hits with 72, runs with a total of 50, 18 doubles, led in total bases with 127, and walks with 48. The Kansas City native was so persistent at the plate this season alongside those stats, breaking the walks record that formally was held by Brandon Huske and Nick Gotta at 45. The utility player ranked second in on-base percentage for the Bearcats at .523 which ranks 23rd in the nation. The junior also ranked #6 on Northwest’s single-season total bases list with 127.
New Hampton man injured in single-vehicle crash
A New Hampton man sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident on May 21, 2024. The crash occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. on 150th Avenue, two miles east of New Hampton. Union County woman nabbed on drug charges
(Creston) -- A Lorimor woman faces drug charges in Creston. Creston Police say 43-year-old Megan Marie Brown of Lorimor was arrested early Monday evening on two Union County warrants. The first is for possession of a controlled substance--marijuana, 1st offense, and possession of a controlled substance--methamphetamine, 1st offense. Brown is also charged on a second warrant for for possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest took place in the 300 Block of North Street shortly before 7 p.m.
