(Creston) Creston Police arrest two people on drug charges, one person for assault and another for tampering. Police arrested 53-year-old Jerry Robert Mercer, of Creston, on Friday at the intersection of Summit and Maple for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana 2nd Offense. Mercer was taken to the Union County Jail, where he was later released on $1300 cash or surety bond.

Creston teen cited following a property damage accident
(Creston, Iowa) – Police in Creston cited a man for Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance (accident related), Wednesday. Authorities say a 1997 GMC pickup driven by 16-year-old Justin Ray Loudon, of Creston, was turning south from Swan Street onto Maple, when the pickup sideswiped a 2006 Chevy Impala that was legally parked on the west side of the street in the 600 block of N. Maple. The accident happened at around 3:45-p.m.

Creston Man Suffers Minor Injuries in a Motorcycle Accident
(Creston) A Creston man suffered minor injuries in a motorcycle accident Friday evening. The Creston Police Department say upon arrival, 76-year-old Michael Spaulding was sitting next to his motorcycle, alert and conscious, but bleeding from the head. Spaulding told officers he has consumed some alcohol. According to the report, it appears the motorcycle crossed the center portion of the road traveling northbound on Cherry Street and struck the curb. The motorcycle then turned over, scraping along the yard and road.
