Montgomery County Man arrested for Assault
(Red Oak) A Villisca man faces assault charges. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies were called to the 500 block of E. 4th Street in Villisca for an assault in Progress. During the investigation, authorities arrested 39-year-old Kevin Bradshaw for Domestic Abuse Assault with impeding flow of air or blood causing bodily injury. Deputies transported Bradshaw to the Montgomery County Jail and held him on no bond.
Missouri woman injured after car goes airborne, rolls
NODAWAY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 11p.m. Friday in Nodaway County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Honda Accord driven by Briley D. Giamalva, 49, Archie, was northbound on U.S. 71 two miles east of Burlington Junction. The car traveled off the west side of the road, struck a field entrance, went airborne and rolled.
Deer causes teen to crash on Highway 46 near Grant City

Driver avoids deer, crashes on Route C near Savannah
A Missouri man sustained minor injuries Tuesday night after his car veered off the road in an attempt to avoid a deer on Route C. At approximately 9:22 p.m. on April 30, 2024, Richard Stinson of Maryville was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Impala northbound when he encountered a deer. In an effort to avoid the animal, Stinson applied brakes and subsequently lost control of the vehicle. The car traveled off the east side of the roadway, striking an embankment and coming to rest facing northeast.

Page County board hears progress update on jail design
(Clarinda) -- Project leaders hope to have the new Page County jail project out for bid early next month. Meeting in regular session Thursday morning, the Page County Board of Supervisors heard an update from Samuels Group General Manager Jeff Curtis on the planning and design of the new 19,700-square-foot facility. Voters in November backed a $16.7 million bond issue paving the way for the construction of the facility on the county farm on the south side of Clarinda just off U.S. Highway 71. Curtis says they are around 80-to-85% complete with the design. However, he reiterated that they are going for simplicity and functionality with the new facility.
