Local Resident's Uninsured Mobile Home Destroyed in Accidental Fire
A fire occurred at a rural property in Burlington on December 4th, 2023. The Burlington and West Burlington Fire Departments responded to the incident. The fire was reported at 1:50 AM, with firefighters arriving at the scene by 2:01 AM. The property, a mobile home at 11912 DMC HWY 99 Lot 103, was on fire when they arrived.
Power restored after massive outage Sunday evening
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A down sub transmission line located outside of Abingdon, Illinois was to blame for a large power outage Sunday evening. Almost 100% of Henderson and Warren Counties where without power, along with portions of Mercer and Knox Counties. According to officials from Ameren, crews had to switch lines, and draw in power from other sources to restore power to those affected.

A fire on Saturday morning, Nov. 25, caused an estimated $150,000 damage to the National Guard Armory, 135 W. Grant St. in Macomb. No one was injured in the fire, which appears to have started in a locked storage room. Firefighters who forced their way into the room found a smoldering fire from electrical charging equipment and stored batteries.
