Local patients grapple with possibly of losing HaysMed as in-network provider
Hays Medical Center has yet to reach an agreement for a new contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield. The hospital announced this summer it was negotiating with BCBS for higher reimbursement rates. If it did not receive higher rates, it said it would terminate its contract with the insurer as of Dec. 31.

Martinez breaks 300 yards; Buhler avenges loss to Great Bend to advance
BUHLER, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - As the rule goes, it’s tough to beat a good team twice in the same season. Great Bend, in its return to Class 4A, defeated Buhler 33-22 on a rainy night in week four of the season. The Crusaders kept things close despite four turnovers. In Friday’s playoff game on the same field, the Buhler offense was nearly perfect. Junior Landon Martinez rushed for 350 yards and four touchdowns as the Crusaders advanced with a 49-12 win.

WATCH HERE - CLICK HERE TO WATCH LIVE. (3) #2 Hays High (8-1) hosts (11) Goddard (4-5) in the regional round of the 5A playoffs. It is the second playoff meeting between the two. The Indians and Lions played in 1981 with Goddard winning. It was the first ever playoff football game for Hays.
